Keynote Lectures
Mark
Babizhayev,
M.D
|
One
of the keynotes of the conference was Dr. Mark Babizhayev's
lecture, about the development of the breakthrough surgical
treatment for and prevention of senile cataract. Dr. Babizhayev
presented for the first time to a western audience, the remarkable
results of research on n-acetylcarnosine (abbreviated to NAC)
eye-drops to cure senile cataract within a 3-5 month period
of time. Mark Babizhayev, Ph.D. is a bio-physicist and holds
a Ph.D in Biophysics and Pathophysiology. He has dedicated
many years to scientific research, principally at Helmholtz
Research Institute of Eye Disease, in Moscow. During that
time, he has accumulated over 86 published articles and also
has 15 patents to his name.
|

Michael Fossel,
MD, Ph.D.
|
Dr.
Michael Fossel, opened and closed the 3rd Monte Carlo Anti-Aging
Conference. He is the Professor of Medicine at Michigan State
University and he is also the Editor of the Journal of Anti-Aging
Medicine and has dedicated many years to studying Progeria
and related accelerated aging syndromes.
He
is convinced that the evidence from these diseases, together
with the fact that germ cells and cancer cells do not age,
indicates that aging is a regulated process, that is, a
function of gene expression, and not a function of "wear
and tear." His elaboration about the role of telomeres
and telomerase in cancer, aging and longevity was well received,
as was his announcement of the beginning of human clinical
trials with telomerase inducers next year!

Other Prestigious Speakers and Their Subjects
Rick
Cohen, MD
is a leading authority in the treatment of male hormonal imbalance
and has considerable in-depth clinical and research experience.
He has also been responsible in assisting the US Senate on
the safe promotion and the progressive use of dietary supplements,
including, natural hormones and hormone precursors, all of
which, have been shown to promote optimum male health and
performance. Dr. Cohen elaborated on the need and role of
prohormones for aging men, and in a second lecture also elaborated
on the role of estrogens in men, and why and how to control
the elevation of increased estrogens, which accumulate from
both the environment and with aging.
|
Gary
Gordon, MD
is the President of the Gordon Research Medical Research Institute
in Arizona. He is also the cofounder of the American College
for Advancement in Medicine, one of the most progressive medical
organizations in the US and perhaps the world. Plus he is
the President of the International College of Advanced Longevity
Medicine. As an internationally recognized expert on chelation
therapy, his lecture informed everyone on the essential need
to remove toxic metals from our bodies. Metals are present
in amounts far greater today than any of our forebears. Dr.
Gordon's lecture went on to set the standards for the proper
use of oral and intravenous chelation therapy as an adjunct
therapy for all diseases.
|
Thierry
Hertoghe MD
from Belgium, is one of Europe's leading professional advocates
of Anti-Aging Medicine. Having established an Anti-Aging practice
in Brussels, as well as the European Academy of Quality of
Life and Longevity Medicine, and now assisting in the curriculum
for the world's first postgraduate course, for physicians
to graduate in Anti-Aging Medicine, he is an extremely active
individual. The first of two lectures was about one of the
most potent and perhaps controversial hormones used today
in Anti-Aging Medicine, Human Growth Hormone. And the second
was regarding the relationship of hair to hormones, in particular
DHEA, HGH and thyroid. Dr. Hertoghe's long experience bought
an almost 'how to' approach to his lectures.
